Sound design and editing \\ composition \\ POST PRODUCTION AUDIO MIXING
I’ve gotten to compose for various Amazon content in a range of genres over the years - here are a few examples (which I also mixed).

This is something I did just for fun, but I’m really proud of the result - in 2019 I bought a Teenage Engineering OP-Z (a remote-control-sized sequencer/sampler/synthesizer all in one tiny package) and challenged myself to create 10 different tracks and then “perform them” live in one take for each song. I put “perform” in quotes because I mostly pre-sequenced the musical parts (drums, bass and melody synths, etc), but in these videos, you’ll see me switching between sections, adding performance effects that create glitches/filter sweeps/etc, and live-mixing and occasionally playing extra parts on the tiny keyboard.
10-video playlist - feel free to skip around to hear/see different one-take performances!
Music and sound effects for this subtly terrifying animation based on a metaphor at the beginning of Nick Bostrom's recent book about artificial superintelligence
This was just awesome to work on. I started with music, composing a couple of fluid movements that rely on a mix of organic and inorganic sounds. Being a musician at heart, my favorite moments in sound design happen when the line between "timed sound effect" and "music" gets blurred, and this video is full of those moments where the music catches a motion or a hit so that an added sound effect doesn't really have to. I took inspiration from Samurai Jack, one of my all-time favorite pieces of media, for the synthesized sounds that border on sound effect and sneak the concept of AI into this otherwise bucolic animation.

Composition, cello performance, sound fx and mix for a series of absurd animated videos for Oregon winery JK Carriere.
I was handed the video and the dialogue, and composed and performed the faux-classical cello music to fit and then added foley and sound design to emphasize the drunken quality of the clip. Fun fact: the giraffe's song at the end of the video was already recorded as part of the voiceover when I started the project, so I had to write, tune, and perform the cello part under it to fit.

The first of the JK Carriere videos I did sound and music for. I selectively highlighted realistic foley sounds in a way that calls attention to the absurd nature of the video, and wrote the cello score to follow the mood as the clip moves along.

A collection of videos that Epipheo contracted me to compose for.
Another electro-pop composition for Trifacta - the idea here was to fit an organic, guitar-driven feel together with very mechanized synth elements.

This was a fun foray into simple electronic pop - the client provided a slow-building techno reference track to emulate, and I drew a little extra inspiration from instrumental electro/organic-pop wizard Tycho and added some guitar and real bass to bring it all together.

This Soundcloud set contains various video/media compositions and commercial demo pitches I've done over the years - they were often written and arranged with specific cues in mind, but they show more of the wide style range I'm comfortable working with.
This Soundcloud set contains specifically electronic sketches I've created under the artist moniker "Veliko". These are all pretty quick sketches either using software instruments and samples in Pro Tools, or improvised and recorded live on some hardware drum machines and synthesizers.
