<image:caption>I did some simple sound fx for this video to help a few motions and transitions pop, and then I also did some creative editing and effects-work with the stock audio track that was provided so that it had a little more dynamic flow. Also, side-note, that's my guitar case at the end of the video. Credits: sound fx, music editing</image:caption>

<image:caption>My friends over at Sockeye made this video and brought me on to add sound effects and make the final mix sound like a warped documentary on a damaged tape reel from yesteryear, which was really fun - I ended up using multiple different tape and vinyl emulators, which usually means I’m having a good day. Plus, it’s for pFreim Brewing, which is one of my favorite Oregon beer companies. Win-win. Credits: sound fx and design, final mix</image:caption>

<image:title>Sound Design Work Examples - State of Cheese | Stinky</image:title>
<image:caption>I did sound fx and design and mix for a bunch of these videos for the Wisconsin Cheese Board, and the fact that I don’t eat dairy was mitigated by how much I loved watching these two get really excited about the nerdier points of cheese. Mixing these was also a fun challenge - the dialogue was very echo-ey, noisy and muffled, so I got to give Izotope’s RX noise reduction tools a good workout. <image:caption>This was just awesome to work on. I started with music, composing a couple of fluid movements that rely on a mix of organic and inorganic sounds. Being a musician at heart, my favorite moments in sound design happen when the line between "timed sound effect" and "music" gets blurred, and this video is full of those moments where the music catches a motion or a hit so that an added sound effect doesn't really have to. I took inspiration from Samurai Jack, one of my all-time favorite pieces of media, for the synthesized sounds that border on sound effect and sneak the concept of AI into this otherwise bucolic animation. <image:title>Sound Design Work Examples - Good Friday</image:title>
<image:caption>This was an interesting project - the music and dialogue had already been put together and edited, and the folks at Juliet Zulu just wanted a mix and sound design for the mosquito that flies around throughout the video. Pretty straightforward, but fun using various effects to create a realistic sense of space and proper distance around the mosquito. Credits: sound design, mix</image:caption>

<image:title>Sound Design Work Examples - Wire to Wire Trailer</image:title>
<image:caption>This was a first for me - working on an extended cinematic-style trailer for a novel called Wire to Wire. Juliet Zulu put the video together, and I was in charge of everything sound-related, from doing foley and sound design to cleaning up often hard-to-hear dialogue to sourcing music. Cool mix of literal foley-esque sounds and abstract, hallucinatory effects. Credits: sound design and foley, dialogue sweetening/editing, final mix</image:caption>

<image:title>Sound Design Work Examples - The Mentoring Project - Waiting</image:title>
<image:caption>To fit with the "waiting" theme for this video, I started with the sound of a second hand on a clock ticking and brought it in and out of focus throughout the clip. Then, I designed a tempo grid based on the speed of the clock ticking, and designed the rest of the sound effects and foley for the video so that they followed the grid. The result is a subtly musical soundscape inspired by some of the backing tracks from the Bjork movie Dancer in the Dark. Credits: sound design and foley, final mix</image:caption>
